Construction Laborers lay asphalt, pour and place concrete, lay pipe, install storm drains, do environmental remediation, perform demolition, and work in a great variety of tasks in almost all construction types, including bridges, tunnels, airports, roads, dams, and residential, commercial, and public buildings.
Apprenticeship
The Laborer Apprentice program involves:
- 4,000 hours of on-the-job training
- Six weeks of school.
Requirements for application:
- Be at least 18 years old
- Have the ability to communicate safely on a jobsite
- Be physically able to perform the work of the craft
- Pass a drug test
- Have a valid California driver’s license
