Plasterers apply plaster to interior walls, stucco to exterior walls, and fireproofing to structural steel.  Much of this work requires close and careful attention to finished appearance.  Plasterers may craft ornamental plaster in place or may attach ornamental plaster shapes to walls and ceilings.
The Plasterer Apprentice program involves:
  • 6400 hours of on-the-job training
  • 576 hours of classroom training
  • Occasional long distance travel for employment or training
Requirements for application:
  • High school diploma, G.E.D. certificate, or foreign equivalent
  • Current California driver’s license 
Applications are accepted Monday through Friday between 7:00 a.m. and 8:30 a.m. at Plasterers’ Local 66 Union Halls:

Pre-apprenticeship training for the Plasterers Apprenticeship is offered through the Job Corps Training Center at Treasure Island. Plaster specific pre-apprenticeship training is also offered through CityBuild.
